You can be met at Indira Gandhi International airport and come by minibus or chauffeured car directly here, or after a stopover in Delhi. Pantnagar Airport is a smaller airport that is closer to us than Delhi airport - it's 3.5 hours drive away.
From Delhi By Train: Delhi is well connected to Haldwani and Kathgodam by train. The best option is to take the overnight Ranikhet Express to Kathgodam from Old Delhi Railway Station. A convenient day train, called Shatabdi, starts from New Delhi Railway Station at 6 every morning and reaches Kathgodam by 11.15 a.m. There is another slower train that arrives late at night at Haldwani and Kathgodam. In case you wish to take this, be sure to book your accommodation in advance in Haldwani or Kathgodam, or arrange to be met at the station.
From Delhi By Car: Majkhali is approx. 390 kms from Delhi and can be reached in approx. 8-10 hours by car.
Local shared and private taxis are easily available at the stations for Ranikhet and Majkhali. Majkhali is 12 km from Ranikhet and easily reached via shared and private local taxis. The prices of the shared taxi is roughly INR 500 and that of private is INR 2500. A taxi can be arranged on prior request to be available waiting at the station. Vrikshalaya location in Majkhali: At Majkhali, turn on a side road that goes towards Sundarkhal village, go for a kilometre and stop by the bridge. Turn right before the bridge into the car park. Walk across another small bridge on the stream and enter the gate. A short uphill walk of 5 minutes through the fields and forests and you will arrive at the centre!
Haldwani is roughly two hours drive away.
Please call Ajay ahead of time on the day of your arrival so we can prepare for your arrival, and welcome you with a meal. Also, we will send someone to look out for you at the beginning of the dirt road, and to help with your luggage.
